This FSC Forest management (FM) certification is not just situated in any area. Located near Bella Coola on BC’s central coast this is in the heart of an extremely valuable area also known as the Great Bear Rainforest. See

This Coastal rainforest has pristine forest and an amazing wildlife including Black bears, Grizzly bears, and Wolves. Watersheds holds numerous intact salmon streams which are of vital importance for the ecological balance not only in the sounds and sea but also the forest. See

This is by far the largest forest FSC certified on the coast. Second largest is the Iisaak forest area of Clayoquot sound with 87.000 ha which makes the CFCI certification a huge step forward.
The certification is in the very spirit of FSC a result of dialogue and cooperation between the industry, NGO´s and First nations and the Ecosystem based management. See

Tracer has for years been working with FSC certified Western Red Cedar and Yellow Cedar coming from the Coast of BC and promoting these in the European market. Over the years sourcing of FSC cedars have been quite challenging due to short supply.
We welcome this almost 10 fold increase of the supply area and are simply just happy that FSC has gained such a strong foothold in the coastal Rainforest of beautiful BC.
